Summary & Responsibilities

The Process Engineer position is a hands-on shop floor position working within the New Product Development Team.  The position actively works with tool design, metrology and customers to develop a process for manufacturing and quality.  The Process Engineer will ensure a smooth handoff of processes to the Production Team and provide additional assistance as necessary to consistently produce a product within specification.  
  • Participates in the front-end of the process of part and mold design
  • Oversees the modification of the tooling to meet the customer’s part/print design
  • Works closely with both the injection mold and CNC group to ensure the product is being made to meet customer requirements and guidelines (PPAP and FAI)
  • Assists with modification of the injection mold machines and automation of the tooling
  • Involved with customers and providing updates through the design and production process
  • Develop and maintain processes which are efficient, reliable, robust, and capable of providing planned results in terms of cost and quality
  • Play an integral role in the development process from a technical perspective executing task as necessary and/or managing efforts of others within the scope of a project
  • Provides training and personnel development efforts to ensure that technical process skills throughout the organization are developed and continuously improved

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree (Engineering preferred)
  • 5 years of experience working in a plastic injection mold manufacturing plant
  • Strong understanding of mold design
