Summary & Responsibilities

The Process Engineer is responsible for developing robust molding processes utilizing the Scientific Approach to Molding. Also applying these principles to the design of tools, manufacturing process development, documentation, and testing for molded parts.  This position will also support general molding operations, product / process improvements, cost reductions, new product transfers, etc.  
  • Develop, qualify, and validate injection molding and ancillary processes/tooling for new precision parts/molds.
  • Support existing products with sustaining process engineering for a 40+ machine captive molding operation including troubleshooting material, tooling, process, and equipment issues.
  • Establish work instructions, proper Moldability ranges, manufacturing procedures, and quality control input.
  • Assist in procuring new and replacement tooling.
  • DOEs, DFM, SPC, PFMEA, Corrective Actions, etc.
  • Execute cost reduction and continuous improvement projects.
  • Quote part and tooling costs including budget estimates.
  • Lead process/tooling training programs, especially with mold technicians.


  • BS-Engineering Discipline (preferred)
  • 10+ years of plastic processing & 5+ years of tooling experience within a precision Plastic Injection Molding environment (preferably within the Medical Device Industry)
  • Detailed understanding of plastic part design, polymer materials, tooling, secondary equipment, processing, medical process validations, etc.
